FIND YOUR BALANCE.
Our philosophy is built on balance — the cycles of strength, fluidity and rest that shape how we move, how we live and how we grow.
At Sojourn, we believe movement is a reflection of life itself — an ever-shifting cycle of energy, momentum and stillness. Ignite, Flow and Pause shape our classes but they also represent the natural rhythms we move through daily. When we align our practice with these rhythms, we cultivate a deeper connection to our bodies, minds and overall well-being.
Ignite
In our work, our ambitions, our big leaps forward.
Flow
In creativity, our relationships and the moments where everything clicks.
Pause
In moments to reset, recalibrate and breathe.
OUR TEAM
Charlotte Hayto
STUDIO OWNER + PILATES INSTRUCTOR
Charlotte discovered the power of a Pilates studio while living in Los Angeles, where movement became her anchor and community. After later qualifying in Manchester (2023), she then found herself back in her hometown of Broughton Astley. Inspired by her own constant pursuit of balance, Sojourn is a city-grade studio with community at its core.
Charlotte’s classes are mindful, form-focused and designed to push you to your edge — before bringing you back in the best way possible. You’ll feel confident within the shakes and leave feeling energised, with just the right amount of burn. Her playlists blend deep, soulful house and soft electronic beats, creating a rhythm that supports both strength and stillness.
HEMA DAVDA
PILATES INSTRUCTOR
With years of dedicated practice and a deep understanding of human anatomy, Hema brings a mindful, form-focused approach to every class. Her teaching is rooted in alignment, control and breath — creating a supportive space where strength is defined by both physical and mental resilience.
Hema’s sessions blend challenge with accessibility, guiding you to build confidence, improve posture and connect more deeply with your body. Expect clear, empowering cues and an emphasis on moving with intention. Her music choices shift with the day — deep soulful house sets the tone for early mornings and evenings, while Latin beats energise her afternoon classes.
MY SOJOURN.
Charlotte’s Story: A constant journey of movement, balance and belonging
Los Angeles, 2022. A friend invited me to a Pilates class and for the first time, movement felt different. The practice quickly became woven into my routine, my friendships and my sense of belonging.
In LA, life revolved around intentional experiences and shared moments, a contrast to the pub culture I was used to back home in the UK.
When I returned to Manchester, the first thing I did was look for a Pilates studio. I found one, became a member and once again, it became the foundation of my friendships — and later, the place where I qualified as a Reformer Pilates instructor and began teaching.
Fast forward to 2024, I moved back to Broughton Astley — the village I grew up in but hadn’t called home in a long time. While I loved being back in the countryside, I missed having that third space.
That’s why I created Sojourn.
A space to move and breathe, to connect and belong. A studio that brings people together, just as Pilates has done for me in different places and seasons of my life.
But more than that, Sojourn is a reflection of my ongoing journey towards balance — a journey I’ll always be on. Over the years, I’ve learnt that balance isn’t something you find once and hold onto. It shifts, just like we do.
I’ve moved through phases of Ignite — intense work, ambition and pushing forward. I’ve experienced seasons of Flow, where everything feels aligned, life moves effortlessly, and energy comes naturally. And I’ve learnt the importance of Pause — knowing when to stop, rest and allow space for restoration.
Sojourn exists because I’ve felt all of these phases deeply. I know what it’s like to crave structure and discipline, to need freedom and flow and to reach a point where slowing down isn’t just an option — it’s essential.
Movement, like life, isn’t linear. We move through Ignite, Flow and Pause in our own time, in our own way. My hope is that Sojourn gives you the space to explore your own rhythm — whatever phase you’re in.
