Inside Sojourn: A Space Built With Intention

When I first dreamt up Sojourn, I wasn’t just thinking about Pilates. I was thinking about how we feel when we walk into a space. About the little details that tell you you’re somewhere that’s been thoughtfully put together — not just for how it looks, but how it makes you feel.

Sojourn is a city-grade studio, tucked away in the village of Broughton Astley. It’s inspired by the kind of spaces I fell in love with while living in Manchester and LA — studios that felt like a second home, where design and energy mattered just as much as the movement.

I wanted to give you a bit more insight into what we’ve been building — and why every single element has been chosen with care.

The Details That Matter

We’ve invested in the kind of details you don’t always see at first glance, but that completely shape how you feel in the space.

Alkaline-Filtered Water

Our studio is equipped with an alkaline water filter, so you can stay hydrated with water that supports your body’s natural balance. It’s clean, refreshing and just one of those tiny things that makes a difference.

Sonos Sound

We’ve added a Sonos speaker to the space — it’s simple but powerful, filling the studio with clean, immersive sound that carries every playlist effortlessly, whether it’s a grounding Pause session or an upbeat Ignite class.

Lumie Halo Light

Lighting has a huge impact on how we feel. The Lumie Halo uses science-backed light therapy to simulate natural daylight, supporting your mood, focus and circadian rhythm. Perfect for early mornings, darker evenings, or just resetting between the chaos of the day.

Align Reformer Equipment

We’ve chosen Align C8-Pro reformers (used by leading studios across the UK) along with platform extenders and accessories that give you more movement options and space to feel into each exercise. They’re sturdy, versatile and built to support every kind of body.

Air-Purifying Plants

In the next couple of weeks, we’ll be adding air-purifying plants to the space. These aren’t just for aesthetics — they’ll help keep the studio feeling fresh, grounded and calm, bringing a soft, natural energy to every class.

What Sojourn Means to Us

The word sojourn means a temporary stay. And while you might only be with us for a 45-minute class, we believe even short visits can have a long-lasting impact. We’ve built this studio as a place to pause — to reset, to move with intention, to reconnect to yourself.

Whether you’re brand new to Pilates or returning to it, we can’t wait to welcome you in. You don’t need to be “flexible” or “fit” to start.

We open our doors on 9th June — and from Thursday, our memberships and class booking will be open to the waitlist.

Your space is waiting.
